Must have a Board of Directors that includes individuals from groups that are underrepresented in the tech industry (women, people with disabilities, racial/or ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQ community, and/or U.S. military veterans).
Demonstrate at least two years of operations and successful fundraising to support such operations.

The approach to solving this problem is innovative and unique
Led by people who live and work in the community.
The development of the program is heavily influenced by the communities being served
Excitement to create social impact
We can not fund:
Events, sponsorships, or galas
Techstars related events or programs
Grants directly to individuals
Lobbying of any kind
Organization or programs that directly benefit Techstars
Social enterprises or any organization that is not a 501(c)(3) or in-country equivalent
Please read carefully, as these are non-negotiable restrictions that disqualify your organization from receiving a grant from the Techstars Foundation
We can't have the same people on our boards. Minimal overlap between the board members or executives of your organization and the board/executives of Techstars or the Techstars Foundation.
Don't give us stuff in return. If you receive a grant, your organization cannot give Techstars, the Techstars Foundation, our advisors, or any related parties any goods or services or any personal or material benefit that is not provided to the general public (for example, we may receive your newsletter, which you offer to the general public).
These prohibited benefits include tickets, memberships, meals, preferred parking, preferred seating, discounted merchandise, or other preferential treatment from your organization.
Don't give us money in return. If you receive a grant, your organization cannot give Techstars, the Techstars Foundation, our advisors, or any related parties any grants, loans, compensation or similar payments (including expense reimbursements).
Don't give money to individuals. If you receive a grant, your organization cannot use these funds to make any grants to individuals (such as scholarships, emergency hardship grants or disaster relief grants).
Don't spend the money on us. If you receive a grant, you cannot make charitable expenditures in a manner benefiting Techstars.
You don't have to use our services. If you receive a grant, you are not required to spend it on Techstars conferences or services.
